Hmm - my dads NES still working after 20+years
Bro's Ps2 - 6 years old n still running
Home PC - burnt out CPU n wobbly HDD after 2 n half years.
id say the opposite.
in fact otehr electronics like mp3s n digi cams dont tned to last much mroe than past the year warranty.
Becuase Consoles are designed to have a 5-10 year lifecycle they are built to last longer(though in MS case they have epic fail in that department RROD n all), though compter parts are bought out on a monthly basis, whic also means your PC from several years ago could quite possibly be a diffrnet PC, have you seen the Only Fools n horses wiht his 19 year old Broom?

Hmm, on the contrary, my game consoles have lasted much longer than computers. and the PS3 is actually a supercomputer, just in the form of a game console. It's processor, The Cell, has 8 cores, making it very powerful. 6 of those cores are used for gaming, one for security, and one is unused. So the PS3 is in many ways better than a computer. You can even install windows on a PS3. And the PS3 can take a lot of abuse

Hmm.. well I have an atari 2600 and 7800 that still work.
Though every console Ive had that has failed so far was because of the laser failing.

hi there,

the CPUs of game consoles are built by the same kind of companies that make the computers. Is your observation because the game consoles cannot be repaired and hence considered burned out ?
