Is a Japan Gameboy game able to be played on a North American Gameboy?

I want to get a Gameboy game that was only released in Japan… (Pokemon Green Version) But before I get t I need to know if I will be able to play it on my North American Gameboy Color. (I know Gameboy Games can be played on the Gameoy Color)

Yes. All Nintendo handhelds so far have been region free. The only Nintendo handheld to be region locked will be the DSi.
yes, i’m also getting it off ebay, probobly from the same seller your looking at, i have the pokemon red & yellow japan versions and they work, btw the english translation built in the game is so off it’s halarious.
