The cost of Video Gaming in recent times

To combat the current economical difficulties Nintendo have decided to drop the price of the Wii console- just in time for Christmas.

The lower price was first seen at the end of September when US based customers were given the option of buying a wii for the reduced price of $200. Now we can confirm that Amazon have just acted to cut the price of the Nintendo Wii in the UK by £40 seeing the Wii now retail at a new lower sub £140 price point. This is quite a discount considering a Ps3 and Xbox both cost in the region of two hundred pounds. This decrease in price will hopefully mean that Nintendo sell more Wii’s and more families buy them and use the fitness features. Nintendo is the last of the three big console makers to respond to the recession with a price cut. Console price cuts are customary for the video game industry a year or two after launch, because they help reach out to wider audiences who aren’t willing to pay a premium to get the technology first. Nintendo’s decision is timed ahead of the Christmas holiday shopping season, when the video game industry makes most of its money. The Wii, whose revolutionary control broke the traditional reliance on buttons and levers but using motion detecting sensors, is the top selling console worldwide. By making his price cut it is safe to say that Nintendo will be remaining as the top selling console for some time.

It is fairly easy to find a href=”http://www.moneysupermarket.com/c/shopping/bp/nintendo/video-games-and-consoles/video-game-consoles/”>cheap wii console if you look in the right places. A good way of finding the href=” http://www.moneysupermarket.com/c/shopping/sp/video-games-and-consoles/video-game-consoles/”>best games consoles is to compare prices online.

Wii MotionPlus

This new hardware addon improves the Wii’s own motion sensing controller by providing true 1 to 1 movement tracking. This will provide Wii gamers with an improved gameplay experience. A whole range of Wii Motion plus games have already been announced. Nintendo are hoping that Wii MotionPlus will boost the sales of the Wii console and its games.

Wii Motion Plus Stock Shortages

Nintendo have done very well over the past couple of years with their new and inovative inventions for the Wii. Take Wii Fit for instance, this game with its hardware component (The Wii Fit balance board) was out of stock for almost 1 year from its launch date and the same was true for the Wii console itself. The Wii console experienced 2 major stock shortages and became the top selling Xmas toy 2 years in a row.

We anticipate that the availability of Wii MotionPlus will be very low after its launch in June. Nintendo are producing a huge amount of these hardware dongles, but demand is sure to outstrip supply, which will result in Wii Motion Plus stock shortages.

Wii Motion Plus stock locator

As we did with Wii consoles and Wii Fit, the wii-consoles site will be tracking availability of Wii MotionPlus with out realtime stock location service. When stock comes in our site will popup alert windows with an audible notification.

Wii Motion Plus preorders

As stock shortages are expected, it would be wise to preorder Wii MotionPlus earlier rather than later. Placing a preorder also ensures you get a good price for this hardware add-on.

I have a Game Cube, but they no longer make games for it. Instead they make Wii games. Is there any way these games will still play in the Game Cube?
